The Iowa Mennonite School’s track team is gearing up for this year’s season. IMS is coached by Marty Gingerich, who coaches both the boys’ and girls’ track teams.

IMS has a small and young team with just one runner coming back from last year’s team. Senior Riley Schmeider, the lone runner coming back, was a very effective runner for the team placing 10th in two events at state last year in the 1500 and 3000 meter runs.

IMS will start their first track meet at Central College, which is an indoor meet and open to any team that wants to participate. The meet will take place on March 21st.
