It’s the American Library Association’s Digital Learning Day. The purpose behind the event is to draw attention to innovative ways to gain knowledge using technology.

In addition to the books they have on the area’s history, the Kalona Library offers a way to learn about the way things were through digital copies of letters, photos and newspaper clippings. Kalona Library Director Anne Skaden says you can access the Iowa Heritage Digital Collections through their website to see those historic documents.

You can also find the Kalona Library’s digital archive from their website. Skaden says the archive contains digital copies of the Kalona News dating back to 1891.
