A new art project will be part of Washington’s downtown gallery walk this summer. The LET’s Center for the Healing and Creative Arts has been approved by the city council of Washington to host this project around the square. Isabella Santoro with the LET’s Center explains artists and anyone in the community can purchase a fiberglass tube, approximately three feet tall to decorate.

Lorraine Williams shares the idea for the project is similar to the Herky project in Iowa City or Cows on Parade in Chicago, while reusing and recycling items. LET’s stands for learn, embrace and transform.

The gallery walk will be held Monday, July 26th, through Saturday, August 1st. That Saturday the decorated tubes will be auctioned off on the bandstand.
