The Mid-Prairie girls’ golf team is setting up for the start of the 2015 golf season. The Golden Hawks are led by head coach Traci McArter.

The Golden Hawks have six athletes on the roster for this season’s golf team. Junior Alison Wertz and sophomore Olivia Nisly are the only athletes coming back from the team that competed at the state meet last year.
Wertz was the leading scorer for the Golden Hawks last year with an average of 45 strokes per nine holes. Wertz placed 24th individually at state and shot a 188. The Golden Hawks finished sixth as a team in state with a total of 770.

Sophomores Lindsey Palmer and Cassidy Bender were part of the team last year and have some experience playing at the varsity level. Two newcomers are Paige Slaubaugh and Tiffany Fisher.

Mid-Prairie will have their first golf meet Monday, April 6th, at home at the Kalona Golf Course against West Liberty.
