Two senior players from the Mid-Prairie girls’ basketball team will get to show off their skills this spring. Taylor Kurtz and Ali Riggan were selected for the Iowa Basketball Association All Star Game.

Mid-Prairie girls’ basketball coach Stephen Bender explains the honor, “There’s 40 seniors selected for this game and for us to get two girls is a great accomplishment. These 40 girls include all classes in the state of Iowa, so we are excited about that.”

Teams are broken down into four teams, 10 players each represent a region for the state of Iowa. The four teams will play in a four team tournament format. In addition to the games, there will also Most Valuable Player’s selected for each tournament team’s performance. There will also be a three-point shooting contest will be held at the event.
One player will be named Miss Basketball, and awards for the Class Players of the Year will be given out.

The game will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28th, in the Dallas Center-Grimes High School, in Grimes.
