palm-sunday-2020-parade

Since traditional church services cannot be held due to COVID-19 and the need for social distancing, the Washington Area Ministerial Association has created a way for the community to observe Palm Sunday together. This Sunday, April 5th, an automobile procession with palm leaves will weave through Washington. Anyone can participate. Everyone must stay in their vehicles with the only exception being pastors handing out palms.

The procession will start at 1 p.m. at the Washington County Fairgrounds. The cars will go down Monroe to 2nd and then south to the high school and past the Halcyon House, it will then go east on Polk past Pearl Valley, north on 6th and west on Tyler in front of the McCreedy Home, from there it will go on 4th to East Washington and through the United Presbyterian Home cottages. At that point the parade will end and cars will disperse.
