A resolution adding the City of Riverside to Washington County’s multi-jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan was approved unanimously by the Washington County Board of Supervisors yesterday. Supervisor Chairman Jack Seward explained there had been some question regarding whether the Emergency Management Commission needed to approve the measure first. However, after meeting with County Attorney Shawn Showers, Seward said there were no such requirements and recommended moving forward with action. He added the City of Riverside requested this action. The plan is in effect until 2018.
