Three embargoes have been placed on Washington County roads, including: 315th Street from Highway 1 to Coppock Road (W47), 290th Street from Highway 1 to Coppock Road (W47) and Lexington Boulevard from Highway 92 to 2055 Lexington Boulevard, near River Products Young America Quarry. According to the Washington County Engineer’s Office, weight restrictions on certain secondary roads may be imposed by the county board of supervisors. The restrictions are posted March through May due to changing weather conditions and deteriorating roads. These restrictions limits vehicles on these roads to less than five gross tons.

County Engineer Jacob Thorius explained the embargoes are needed to minimize the damage from heavy loads across the roads that are weakened from the spring thaw.
