This year’s most valuable wrestler in the Southeast Conference hails from Washington High School. The 2015 All-Conference wrestling teams were released, and Washington had eight boys’ selected to represent the Demons on the teams.

The coaches of the conference named senior Brad Skubal (195) a First-Team All-Conference selection, and was chosen as the most valuable wrestler during the season. Skubal finished his final high school wrestling season winning 43 of his 47 matches, and finished second in the state in his weight division. His four losses came to the Mediapolis’s Steven Holloway, who won the state championship.

Sophomore Kyle Anderson (120) joins Skubal as a First-Team All-Conference selection. Anderson posted a record of 31-10, and finished in eighth place at the state tournament in his weight class.

Six wrestlers made the All-Conference second team including: sophomore Alex Latcham (106; 29-12), sophomore Andrew Waite (113; 31-10), sophomore Trey Van Weelden (138; 32-10), senior Alex Gonzalez (145; 19-4), junior Bryce Rickey (160; 19-17) and sophomore Seth Townsen (220; 21-11).

The Washington wrestling team went 26-4 in dual meets this season, and capture back-to-back Southeast Conference titles.
