Three girls’ basketball players from the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North were named to the state’s best squad.Highland senior Chelsey Lampe, Columbus senior Kelsey Pretz, and Pekin junior Beth Atwood have all been named to the 2014-15 Class 2A Iowa Girls Athletic Coaches Associations All-State team.

Lampe earned Second Team All-State honors by leading the Huskies in scoring with 279 total points this season, and closed the year second in the conference in total steals with 110. She was a three-time First Team All-SEISC North selection, playing in 94 career varsity games at Highland, the second most in school history, and is in the top five all-time in points scored, rebounds, and assists. Highland ended the season 15-8 overall, losing to the Iowa City Regina Regals 43-27 in the district quarterfinal round. Lampe plans to continue her basketball career at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids.

Pretz was awarded a Third Team All-State spot after leading the Wildcats in total points with 447, the third most in the SEISC North this season and the most points ever record in a single season at Columbus. She finished her career 938 points, the second most scored in school history. Columbus finished their season with a 16-7 record, falling to the West Branch Bears 77-51 in the district quarterfinal round. Pretz has verbally committed to play basketball at Des Moines Area Community College.

Atwood joins Pretz on the All-State Third Team after finishing in the top five in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference in total points and rebounds. Atwood scored 388 points this season, the fifth most in the conference, and brought down 208 rebounds, the third most in the SEISC North. Pekin finished the season with a 19-3 record, falling 58-40 to Iowa City Regina in the district semifinal round.
