Unemployment rates across the KCII listening area dropped from January to February according to Iowa Workforce Development. The State of Iowa’s rate fell slightly from 4.2 percent in January to 4.1 percent in February. Washington County’s rate is just above that state’s with 4.3 percent unemployment in February, or 1,200 people unemployed.

The Iowa City MSA, which includes Washington and Johnson counties also had a slight decrease in unemployment over the same time frame.
