The WACO Warrior girls’ track team has a solid group coming back from last year’s track team. The Warriors have 18 girls participating and graduated just two seniors from last year’s team. WACO will be strong in the 4×100 and 4×200 meter relays this season having three out of four girls back who made from a state appearance last year. WACO’s 4×100 team fell just short of finals last year finishing in 13th place.

WACO has one of the longest waits in the area to return to competition with the Warriors not running in a meet until April 2nd. Warrior track coach Cinda Black explains what they will do to help keep her team motivated during the long stretch, “We are going to an indoor meet at Central College next Saturday, which we’ll take about five girls. It’s hard to stay motivated, we try to do fun things in practice every; once in a while we will try to break it up and have a fun day where we play games to keep people interested.”

WACO’s first meet will be on Thursday, April 2nd, at Mediapolis.
