The fountain in Washington’s Central Park will be updated this spring. Park Superintendent Tim Widmer presented the project at last night’s Washington City Council meeting. The council supports the efforts by the park board to use $8,245 from the gift fund to install electronic controls, as some of the mechanical pieces are now obsolete. Widmer stated there will be fundraisers to help pay for the project.

He added they are looking at a second project later to update the lights to LEDs and install speakers that could coordinate with the water from the fountain.
