The Winfield-Mt.Union Wolves boys’ basketball team had a winning season going 13-10 and finishing the season losing to Holy Trinity in the district semifinals, 53-51. The Wolves had six players named to Southeast Iowa Super Conference teams.

Junior Sam Jennings is First Team All-Conference. He led the Wolves in points with 303 total and an average of 13.2 points per game. He was also second in the conference in rebounds with 219.

Junior Garret Baker, sophomore Bryce Robinson, and junior Zach Davis were named Second Team All-Conference. Baker had the best field goal percentage on the team at 47.8 percent. He also led the team in blocks with 60. Robinson led the Wolves in assists with 123, second in the conference. Davis was the team’s best three-point shooter, shooting at 33.7 percent and scoring 280 total points on the season.

Senior Colten Hinkle and senior Riley Heinzel were honorable mentions. Hinkle and Heinzel were key players that came off the bench for the Wolves. W- MU will look to improve from this year’s basketball season losing just four seniors including; Thayne McElhinney, Colten Hinkle, Heinzel, and Lane Dedic.
