The second installment of a Beef Workshop takes place this evening at the Washington County Extension Office. The four session program is intended to further improve 4-H students’ beef projects inside the county.

Tonight’s session focuses on educating students on the terminology used in evaluating calves along with the learning the anatomy of a calf. Learning these terms will assist 4-Hers in preparing their calves for exhibitions and help the students understand the critiques from the judges. Area beef experts will also be on hand to consult the 4-Hers about the status of their upcoming fair projects.

The workshop is open to all 4-H students. The class begins at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Washington County Extension office. This year’s fair will be held July 17-22.
