It isn’t every day you see a high school head coach being involved in post practice running drills. After most practices, Washington Demon boys’ soccer coach Steve Caulk joined his players on a post practice run as a final wrap up of day’s drills.

Caulk says running with his team serves an important role for his style of play. “I have gotten the sense from my players that if coach is willing to go out on a run, then it truly is important.” Caulk said. “The guys are use to playing soccer where we don’t have a very deep bench, so they understand when they get out on the field that if they aren’t properly conditioned, we are going to get run into the ground.

The Washington Demon soccer team has 19 players on this year’s roster. Eleven players are needed to field a soccer team.

The Demon boys’ soccer team’s first game of the season is on April 14th against the Mid Prairie Golden Hawks at Wellman’s Recreation Center.
