The City of Riverside is looking to increase security at the maintenance shop. Fencing and installation of a security camera was discussed during the city council’s last meeting, and city staff is now looking into how much it would cost.
According to City Administrator Rusty Rogerson, their wood chipper was stolen from the shop a couple of weeks ago. He says a pickup was required to tow away the $38,000 piece of equipment.
Rogerson adds since the wood chipper is only used once a month during spring and summer, they’ll hire someone to do the work instead of replacing the machine.
