The defensive struggles continued Thursday evening for the Washington Demon boys’ soccer team (1-3 overall; 0-3 Southeast). The Demons traveled to Fort Madison for a Southeast Conference showdown against the Bloodhounds (4-1 overall). Washington gave up a season-high six goals, falling 6-1 to Fort Madison.

The Demons’ lone goal came off the foot of junior Giovanni Coronel, his first goal of the spring. He is the fifth Demon player to record a goal this season.

Since posting a 2-0 shut out victory in their season opener against Mid-Prairie, Washington has allowed 15 goals, all coming against Southeast Conference opponent, and has scored six.

The Demon boys’ soccer team continues Southeast Conference play on Monday evening, traveling to Mount Pleasant for a battle with the Panthers (2-3 overall; 1-2 Southeast).
