The Washington Demon boys’ track team is back in competition this afternoon at the Maple Leaf Complex in Mount Pleasant. Mount Pleasant is hosting their annual Varisty Co-Ed meet this evening and will include several teams from the region competing.

Among the team’s scheduled to compete in the boys’ meet include: Central Lee, Davenport Assumption, Davenport North, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Iowa City, Mediapolis, Mid-Prairie, Ottumwa, and West Burlington.

On Monday, Washington competed in the Falcon Relays at West Burlington High School. As a team, the Demons finished in fifth place with 50.5 points. Senior Tommy Peterson placed first in his fourth straight meet to start the season, throwing the shot put a school record 55 feet 1/2 inch Monday evening.

The Washington Demon girls’ track team has decided to forgo the Mount Pleasant Varsity Co-Ed meet in favor of the Bullette Relays in Mediapolis. The Mount Pleasant Varsity Co-Ed meet is scheduled to begin events at 4:30 p.m. at Maple Leaf Complex in Mount Pleasant.
