The Washington County Golf and Country Club will be the part time home of the Washington Demon girls’ golf team this week. The Demon girls’ golf team is hosting back-to-back home meets this week, starting tonight in dual play against the Mount Pleasant Panthers in a Southeast Conference showdown.

The girls’ golf team teed off the season last week with strong performances in Columbus Junction and Burlington, winning both meets by double digit strokes. Three Demon golfers have nine hole averages below 50 strokes. Freshman Sarah Nacos has recorded the best nine hole score in the state thus far this season, shooting a one under 34 during last Thursday’s meet with the Burlington Greyhounds at the Flint Hill Golf Course in Burlington.

Two other Demon golfers have nine hole averages below 50 strokes. Junior Deanna Peiffer sits second on the team with a 43.5 stroke average per nine holes of golf. Senior Sarah Waite has a nine hole average 47.5 strokes.

The Demons girls’ two meet home stand begins 4 p.m. at the Washington Golf and Country Club. Listen to tomorrow’s KCII Sports Page for results of the meet and look for pictures of the meet on KCII’s Facebook Page.
