Washington County’s five year construction program for roads has been approved by the Washington County Board of Supervisors. An estimated $10.75 million is available over the next five years with 51 percent of the funds coming from the farm to market funds, supported by the state gas tax. County Engineer Jacob Thorius explained the plan can be amended, but to do a project it has to be on the plan.

Bridges slated for work in 2015 and 2016 include the Keota Road Bridge east of Elm Avenue, the Vine Avenue Bridge south of Riverside, and the Dutch Creek Bridge on Old Highway 92.

Road construction projects anticipated in 2016 include a $1.4 million rehabilitation project for G36 and Coppock Road, and a $2.9 million project on W61 or Riverside Road.
