Area adults will have a chance this weekend to get free health screenings in downtown Washington. Robert Nichols, who is helping organize the event, explains there will be screenings for cholesterol, bone density, blood pressure measurements, blood sugar testing, body composition testing and pain and injury evaluations. There will also be door prizes at the event held at the Washington Public Library.

Ben Urick states the goal of the clinic is to provide services for those in the community who haven’t seen a doctor in some time and use this information to help make health decisions. Those conducting the screenings have held similar events in Johnson County. There will also be a Spanish translator on site.

The clinic will be held Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and registration is not needed. For more information listen to today’s Washington Page.
