Spring is in full swing and yards are turning more green each day. Steve Donnolly, building and zoning official for the City of Washington, explains the code states grass should not be over eight inches long. If it is too long, city staff will place a note on the door and if it remains too long, then the city will mow it and charge the property owner for the service.

Donnolly adds yard waste can be burned in Washington, but to be courteous of neighbors.
