The deadline for Open Enrollment for health insurance is approaching. Iowans have until Sunday, January 15 to enroll through Marketplace for coverage in 2023.

The 10th annual Open Enrollment period has already seen an increase of 6.56% in the state of Iowa. In a report by the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, however, it was estimated that 5.6% of non-elderly residents in Washington, Keokuk, and Jefferson Counties are still uninsured. Estimates are 6.7% in Louisa and Henry Counties, and 7.1% in Iowa County.

Individuals and families who still need to enroll may be eligible for lower-cost coverage if they meet the January 15 deadline, due to grant funding released by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
