The Mid-Prairie boys’ and girls’ track teams will be back on the track today as they head to a meet in Williamsburg.

The girls are coming off of a meet where they had some stellar performances last Thursday in Mt. Pleasant. Freshman Anna Hostetter received second place in the 3200 meter run while senior Lexi Duwa received second place in the 100 meter dash.

Coach Chris Tyler says it will be great to see his team fresh, coming off of their spring break, “Being able to get a true look where we are when we are fresh. So far for most of the meets we have been fairly fatigued from the practices we have had during the week.”

The Mid-Prairie boys will compete in their second track meet of the year and Golden Hawks coach Aaron Fleming knows a lot of spots are not cemented on his team, “We still have a few moving parts, with only one meet underneath our belts and we’re still looking around. We have a lot of new personel with only six upperclassmen, with so many young guys people are still trying to figure out what is the best event for me, where can I make the biggest impact for the team.”

One of the six upperclassmen is senior Colin Weber who achieved first place in the 400 meter dash at Mt. Pleasant last Thursday.

The meet will begin at 4:30 p.m. today at Willamsburg High School.
