The Mid-Prairie boys’ and girls’ soccer teams kick off the 2015 season tonight taking on Clear Creek Amana.

The girls’ team is looking to start the season on the right foot after ending last season with a 10 match losing streak coming into their season opener. The Clippers lost one player off of last year’s 15-3 team . The match will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Clear Creek Amana High School in Tiffin.

The boys will look for a repeat of last season, which saw the Golden Hawks finish as state runners up. The Golden Hawks have participated in two scrimmages against Solon and Iowa Mennonite School going 1-1 in exhibition matches. Mid-Prairie faces off against a team in the Clippers that went 12-5 last year, but lost four players due to graduation. These two teams opened up the season against each other last year, with the Golden Hawks coming away with a 2-1 victory. The game will begin at 4:30 p.m. in Wellman.
