Keota and Mid-Prairie high school students now have a better understanding of the consequences associated with distracted driving. Students from both schools took part in the Keokuk County Ambulance’s simulation in Keota yesterday which involved a mock accident caused by a driver who was texting.
According to Keota High School Principal Nathan Carlson, the events that could unfold after such an accident were covered, from being questioned by police to having a passenger pronounced dead.
He says hopefully the simulation will lead students to change their behavior while behind the wheel.
