Swamp white oak, tulip, and Eastern white pine are just a few of the types of the 110 trees to soon be planted in the area. Returning to Washington this weekend is the Washington Tree Committee’s annual tree give away. The event starts at 8 a.m. and will be finished by 8:30 a.m. Saturday Residents are invited to come to the east side of Central Park in downtown Washington Saturday morning to receive a free tree to plant at their residence. The event receives grant assistance from the Washington Iowa Betterment Foundation.

– Swamp White Oak (medium)
– Frontyard Linden Tree (medium to large)
– Tulip Tree (large)
– Canaan Fir (large)
– Eastern White Pine (large)
