The 2015 Drake Relays are almost complete and many KCII area athletes have finished participating.

Mid-Prairie sophomore Levi Duwa participated in the shot put and finished in 8th place overall with a throw of 52 feet and six inches. It was two and three quarters inches better then his qualifying throw, but three inches shorter than his personal best which he set last Tuesday at the Hawk Co-Ed Relays.

In the discus throw Winfield-Mt.Union senior Lou Krieger-Coen received 8th place with a throw of 128 feet and five inches. The throw was four inches farther than her qualifying throw.

There were two participants in the 3000 meter run. Pekin junior Gwynne Wright received 7th place with a time of 10:15:09. Mid-Prairie freshman Anna Hostetler had a time of 10:51:82 which was good enough for 20th place.

Two other KCII athletes participate in the 100 meter dash. Columbus junior Maurico Ramirez achieved 10th place with a run of 11.39 seconds. WACO junior Bryce Achen ran a time of 11.74 seconds to receive 27th place. The time was .71 seconds slower then his time he achieved to qualify for Drake.

Mid-Prairie 4×100 relay team received 71st place with a time of 52.81 seconds. Participants in the relay were senior Lexi Duwa, junior Alex Rath, sophomore Emily Cayton and freshman Shelby Zahradnek.
