KCII’s Severe Weather Action Team responded to a tornado warning Thursday afternoon. Developing storms prompted the National Weather Service to issue the warning at 3:39 p.m for portions of Washington and Keokuk counties. According to Larry Smith, Washington and Keokuk Emergency County Management Coordinator, storm spotters reported seeing rotation over the eastern portion of Keokuk County, but he adds there was no confirmation of a touchdown. The tornado warning was allowed to expire at around 4:30 and was followed by a severe thunderstorm warning that expired at 5 p.m.
