The Iowa Mennonite School girls’ track team competed at the Wildcat Relays in Durant yesterday. IMS would score 28 points to place sixth out of eight teams.

IMS received a solid performance from senior Riley Schmieder the 1500 meter run in 5:31 seconds and placed second in the 800 meter run in 2:40 seconds. Both times were season bests for Schmieder. She also anchored the 4×800 meter relay team, with Demi Brezina, Avery Blauvelt and Alyssa Gonzales, which won with a time of 11:34 seconds. Freshman Rachel Miller ran her best time in the 100 meter hurdles to place third in 18.58 seconds. Brezina also recorded a personal best of 29.2 seconds in the 200 meter dash placing fourth.

The IMS girls’ and boys’ track teams compete next in Wayland at the Ekstrand Relays on Thursday, April 30th.
