This April temperatures have been above normal while precipitation has been below average. The average temperature recorded in Washington the last 30 days has been 51.9 degrees, while the normal temperature is 50.5 degrees. The normal precipitation for the month of April is 3.26 inches, but just over three inches has been recorded this month in Washington.

The wettest spring on the books happened two years ago; in 2013, Iowa received 16.65 inches of precipitation over March, April and May. State Climatologist Harry Hillaker tells KCII News that 10 inches is normal for spring.
