Another week of track meets begins this afternoon for the Washington Demon boys’ track team. The Demon boys’ track team is scheduled to battle this evening in the Indian Relays at Wapello High School.

Among the teams expected to compete at the relays are: Mid-Prairie, Columbus, Lone Tree, Winfield-Mount Union, Central Lee, Danville, Mediapolis, West Burlington, West Branch, West Liberty, and Wilton.

The Demon boys’ track team is coming off of a second place finish at Friday’s Demon Relays, amassing 93 points at the meet. Demon senior Tommy Peterson broke his own shot put record at the meet, throwing the shot 55 feet 7-and-a-half inches and placing first at the meet. The throw also set a new Demon Relays meet record.

The Indian Relays start at 4:30 p.m. at Wapello High School.
