The Dickinson County supervisors, in northwest Iowa, have sent a survey to other boards of supervisors in the state regarding the master matrix system. Washington County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jack Seward states the supervisors will be asked to share where they stand on the issue at next weeks’ meeting.

The master matrix, as defined by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, is a scoring system used to evaluate the site for a confinement feeding operation.

Washington is one of 11 counties in the state to currently not have a mater matrix system.
