The Mid-Prairie girls’ golf team won by just three strokes in their home opener. They took the course for their first regular season meet at home against conference opponents West Liberty and West Branch. The Golden Hawks would came away with the victory, winning with a team score 216 strokes, while West Liberty had 219 and West Branch had 230.

Junior Allyson Wertz was a meet medalist with a nine hole score of 43. Other scorers for the Golden Hawks were freshman Paige Slabaugh with 54, sophomore’s Cassidy Bender with 56, Olivia Nisly with 63, Lindsey Palmer with 66 and Tiffany Fisher with 81.

The Golden Hawks have a week before they’re back home for a dual against the Durant Wildcats Monday at the Kalona Golf Club.
