A 16-year-old Washington girl is continuing her competitive cycling circuit this season across the United States. Alijah Beatty attended training camps early this year in California and has raced in St. Louis, Iowa City and La Crosse. She begins a series of races over the next three weeks beginning with the Snake Alley Criterium in Burlington, the Melon City Criterium in Muscatine and the Quad Cities Criterium in Davenport this weekend. Last year, Beatty recorded wins on her bicycle at the Snake Alley and Melon City events.

The following weekends she’ll be competing in Kansas City and Galena. Next month she’ll race at the National Championships in Lake Tahoe, California in the road race, time trial and criterium.
