An internationally known blues musician is performing an outdoor concert in rural Kalona this weekend. Friends of Bunker Bridge recently announced the acts slated to perform at its Almost Acoustic Tuesdays and Second Saturdays in 2015.

Catfish Keith is playing at 7 p.m. this Saturday at the English River crossing. The singer-songwriter was inducted into the Iowa Blues Hall of Fame in 2008 and is coming off of his 42nd Overseas Tour.

Friends of Bunker Mill Bridge was formed in 2013 after the historic bridge was damaged by arson. So far, members of the group have been able to raise money to restore the structure of the bridge, and are seeking a Washington County Riverboat grant to finance the next phase. According to Scott Allen, executive director of the group, the roughly $120,000 they’re applying for would allow them to complete the stringers and decking. The recipients of the foundation’s spring grants will be announced tonight.

Jeffrey Foucault will perform at the first Almost Acoustic Tuesday of the year scheduled to begin 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 19th.
