The Columbus Community boys’ and girls’ track teams will be hosting a co-ed track meet today. Teams participating are West Liberty, Durant, Lone Tree, Wapello, West Burlington/Notre Dame, West Branch and Wilton.

The meet for the boys will showcase the top five sprinters in the state of Iowa in the 100 meter dash. Sophomore Isaiah Trousil of West Burlington/Notre Dame has the top time in the state with a run of 10.86 seconds and junior Mauricio Ramirez of Columbus Community is in fourth with a run of 10.94 seconds. Both were Drake Relays qualifiers in the 100 with Trousil taking bronze and Mauricio achieving 10th place.

The Columbus girls’ track team has the fifth best 4×100 shuttle hurdle relay team in Class 1A with a time of 1:09.4. Athletes in the event are Kelsey Pretz, Shania Boyd, Monaye Mathews and Laura Mincks.

The meet will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Columbus Community Track Complex.
