The Association of Iowa’s County Treasurers’ annual conference, which is  taking place in Washington County this year, wraps up today. The county treasurers have been attending seminars at the Riverside Casino since the meeting began Wednesday.

Washington County Treasurer Jeff Garrett says aside from the educational aspect of it, the conference is a chance for treasurers to network and see different parts of the state.

He shares they traveled across the county yesterday. The group toured businesses and a conservative Mennonite church in Kalona, visited the Washington Farmers Market, and stopped at the Ainsworth Opera House for dinner and a program presented by Michael Zahs.

Garrett adds classes led by the Department of Transportation are on today’s agenda.
