After avenging an early season loss to the Columbus Wildcats on Friday, the Washington Demon girls’ soccer team (3-8 overall; 0-7 Southeast) will look for back-to-back victories for the first time this season. The Demons travel to Muscatine tonight for a non-conference clash against the Muskies (7-2 overall).

Washington ended the home portion of their schedule on Friday evening against the Columbus Wildcats. The Demons, who fell 3-2 in overtime to Columbus on April 7, evened the season series with a 3-1 victory over the Wildcats. Senior Kayla Schindler leads the Washington offense with five goals this season, three coming against the Wildcats. Senior Stephanie Evans has recorded over 175 saves this season, tops in the Southeast Conference.

The Muskies come into today’s non-conference battle against Washington off of a 5-1 victory over Davenport North, and have won seven of their nine matches this season. Sophomore Abby Estabrook is the team leader in goals scored with 10, and assists with six.

Today’s non-conference soccer showdown kicks off at 4:30 p.m. at Muscatine High School. For more photos from Friday’s match between the Demons and Wildcats, visit KCII Radio’s Facebook Page.
