Only 9 percent of Iowa is experiencing drought conditions at this time and it is only considered abnormally dry. At this time last week just over 14 percent of the Hawkeye State was abnormally dry. And conditions are better now compared to a year ago when nearly 29 percent of Iowa was in moderate drought and over half of the state was abnormally dry.

Conditions have improved in Minnesota with nearly 92 percent of the state in moderate drought and 35 percent in severe drought last week, while now only 50 percent of the state is in moderate drought and no portion remains in severe drought. Conditions have also improved slightly in Wisconsin.
