A group of students in Mid-Prairie’s Home School Assistance Program are now graduates. A graduation ceremony was held yesterday for the home schooled kids who have completed their high school education.

According to the program’s assistant director Rose Schrock, it’s different from a normal graduation. She says it’s an opportunity for parents, who have been serving as teachers, to publicly honor their children and hand them their diploma.

Twelve students in the program graduated this year and nine of those took part in yesterday’s ceremony.
