Tuesday’s gamewas the first round of the postseason for the Iowa Mennonite School boys’ soccer team as they traveled to West Liberty to take on the No.15 ranked Comets.

IMS would go down in the first round, 6-1. The Comets took a 3-0 lead to start the game, but IMS was able to cut the lead to two after senior Kobi Russom was able to score jut before halftime to make the score 3-1. The Comets proved to be too much as they would add three more goals in the second while shutting down the IMS offense.

West Liberty had a big night from sophomore Martin Menjivar-Benagas, who had four goals in the game.

IMS ends the season with a 5-9 record and will say goodbye to six seniors including Danny Lam, Michael Hershberger, C Bai, Kirby Shetler, Jacob Burns and Russom.
