The City of Kalona’s budget for the current fiscal year has been amended. The amendment was approved by the city council on Monday.
According to City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh, they needed to take into account the changes to their revenues and expenses caused by grant funding and loans.
The city’s estimated expenditures for the year that ends June 30th is around $5.1 million, while revenue will come in at about $4.5 million. Schlabaugh says the difference will be taken out of the reserve fund, which gives them an ending reserve balance of over $4.4 million.
