Many offices and business will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) says people should take the day to show thanks, “We don’t show enough appreciation for those who have given the ultimate scarifice for the defense of our freedoms and liberties that we still enjoy in this country, more than any people any place else in the world. And we ought to show that appreciation at least once a year during Memorial Day by just thanking and paying tribute to those people who gave that ulitmate sacrifice.” Courthouses, banks, and city halls will be closed. The Washington County Mini Bus will not be operating. A Memorial Day ceremony will be held at the Washington High School at 10 a.m. Monday.
