Two Burlington residents are facing charges related to making meth and violating no-contact orders they have against each other. At approximately 3:30 Saturday afternoon, a Henry County Deputy Sheriff was flagged down in the 1700 block of East Washington Street in Mount Pleasant by a citizen who reported a possible domestic dispute in a nearby parking lot.

The suspects, 42-year-old Jeremy Rourke and 34-year-old Amber Meyers, who had active protective orders on each other, were pulled over while trying to leave the area. During the investigation, authorities found items used to make “one pot” methamphetamine labs, some of which Meyers attempted to hide under a vehicle in the parking lot. More materials for “one pot” meth labs were uncovered in a local hotel room the suspects were sharing.

As a result, Rourke and Meyers were arrested and charged with felony conspiracy to manufacture over five grams of meth and violation of a no-contact order. According to Henry County Sheriff Rich McNamee, evidence supporting that someone is making more than five grams of meth is the same as finding an active meth lab producing that amount of meth.

Rourke and Meyers are currently being held at the Henry County Jail. They could face over 25 years in a correctional facility if convicted.
