On a beautiful day in Wayland several KCII boys’ track teams competed in WACO’s home meet yesterday.

Mid-Prairie won first place in their class and second place overall, behind Lone Tree, with 98 points.

Sophomore Levi Duwa claimed first place in the discus with a throw of 135 feet 2 inches. In the shotput Duwa took second place with a throw of 52 feet 1 inch. Senior Dared Draper also won first place in the 3200 meter run with a run of 10:18. Junior Ryan Errthum was able to get first place in the 1600 meter run in his class with a run of 4:55.2. Freshman Marshall Teets jumped to first place in his class in the high jump at 5 feet 10 inches.

Other top performances from area teams include: Waco’s junior Bryce Achen finishing in first place in the 200 meter run in of 23.14 seconds. Braden Blake was able to get first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:05. Highland junior Keiffer Sexton was awarded first place in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:43.91. Sophomore Jovonte Squiers leap to first place in the long jump at 20 feet and 2.5 inches.
