The Mid Prairie Golden Hawk boys’ golf team hosted the district golf tournament yesterday at the Kalona Golf Club.

Wilton won the team title and Columbus finished runner-up and advance to the District Golf Tournament at the Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City next Thursday. Mid-Prairie finished 7th to end the season.

Columbus’s senior Chase Finke led all participating golfers with a scores of 38, 40 for a 78.

The Golden Hawks were led by freshman Collin Gingerich. He shot a personal best 18 hole score of 49, 49 for a 98. Sophomore Zach Owens shot 49, 51 for a 100 followed by Seth Mann with a 55, 49 for a 104.
