Postseason soccer has started and the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys’ soccer team (8-6) is getting set as they travel to Solon to take on the Spartans (10-8).

These two team did not meet in the regular season, but did scrimmage each other in late March. The Golden Hawks came up short in the scrimmage 3-0.

Mid-Prairie and Solon are fairly close in the amount of goals scored in the regular season with the Spartans scoring 35 goals and the Golden Hawks with 29.

When the Golden Hawks score at least three goals in a game they are 6-1 in the season. Mid-Prairie has been led all year by senior Jordan Ulin with 10 goals. Sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Reed comes in with 88 saves on the season with a 75 save percentage.

Solon has won their last five games, scoring 22 goals and giving up only three. Junior Dylan Doyle leads the Spartans with 12 goals on the season. Junior goalkeeper Logan Linderbaum had 61 saves in the regular season with an 81 save percentage.

This first round postseason match starts today at 6 p.m. at Solon.
