The golf season is on the back nine as the Mid-Prairie boys’ golf team heads to Solon today. The conference tournament consists all 12 teams from the River Valley Conference including; Bellevue, Camanche, Cascade, Durant, Monticello, North Cedar, Northeast, Iowa City Regina, Tipton, West Branch, West Liberty and Wilton.

Mid-Prairie is last in the conference as a team with an average of 211.71 strokes for nine holes and 407 for 18 holes. Freshman Michael Callahan comes in leading the Golden Hawks per nine holes at 52.29 strokes and 99.5 for 18 holes.

The Monticello Panthers are the top team in the conference with an average of 167 strokes per nine holes and 343.25 per 18 holes. Durrant-Bennett’s junior Lake Koenig leads the conference in nine hole stroke average at 39.4 strokes.

The tournament begins today at 9 a.m. at the Saddle Back Golf Course in Solon.
